Dealing with a little discomfort

I recently received a pair of new boots for my birthday. Such a great gift!

As with all new shoes the initial wearing of them was not the most pleasant experience, wearing the new boots I experienced blisters to the point it lead to bleeding on my toes.

It reminded me of the old saying ‘take a walk in someone else’s shoes’. It takes time to ‘break’ in your new shoes and get comfortable wearing them. This applies to running too; I’ve experienced many a blister along with black and broken toe nails.

It’s a good reminder you might have a bad training session or a race not going to plan and sometimes you have to adapt and deal with a little pain and discomfort along the way.
